Na virada do milênio, num momento em que todos os povos celebram a contagem do tempo, o evento Tempo Inoculado, se propõe a levantar questões sobre a diferença essencial entre tempo e cronologia. Tempo é uma unidade universal que diz respeito à maturação das coisas, à percepção, à consciência e à memória. Cronologia é um método cientifico, métrico, convencionado como o denominador comum das sociedades. Cada cultura possuiu um dia uma maneira diferente de perceber e interagir com o tempo. Todas essas formas foram sendo gradativamente esquecidas em benefício do uso corrente da cronologia. Com essa troca, deixamos de perceber o tempo, passando a fazer meras comparações com as escalas de relógios onipresentes.

Este evento busca instigar, através das artes, a dissonância entre a experiência do tempo e a sua consciência cronológica. Aponta para a possibilidade - cada vez mais rara - de observar o tempo como uma parte dos processos da nossa percepção. Aqui, artistas, conferencistas e cineastas exploram a vivência do tempo dentro do movimento, da reflexão, da maquina, do crescimento, da música, da história, da poesia, da física, da mitologia, da religião e da filosofia.

Vivemos uma era em que a ciência e a tecnologia expandiram muito o conceito do possível, e em que o território do impossível passou a ser delimitado pelo tempo. Tempo que, como um vírus, foi inoculado por toda parte e passou a ser mais importante do que a experiência. E a experiência do tempo é a experiência do presente, que, como a palavra indica, é o presente que nos foi dado.

INOCULATED TIME

At the turn of the millennium, when people of all races celebrate the counting of time, the event Time Inoculated raises issues on the fundamental differences between time and chronology. Time is a universal unit, related to the maturation of things, its perception, awareness and memory.

Chronology is a scientific, metric method, chosen as a common denominator of societies. Each culture has had, one day, a different way to perceive and interact with time. All these forms were gradually forgotten, in favor of the current use of chronology. With this change, we no longer perceive time per se, and just began making comparisons with scales of omnipresent clocks.

This event tries to instigate, through arts, the dissociation between experiencing time and the chronological awareness of time. It opens the possibility-more and more infrequent-of observing time as part of our perception processes. Here, artists, speakers and filmmakers explore the experience of time within the movement, the reflection, the machine, the growth, the music, the history, the poetry, the physics, the mythology, the religion, and the philosophy.

We live in an era in which science and technology have largely expanded the idea of the possible, and where the grounds of the impossible have been limited by time. Time that, as a virus, has been inoculated everywhere and has become more important than experience. And the experience of time is the experience of the present, which, as the word says, it is the present given to us.

So, put away your clocks and watches, and allow yourself to enjoy this "present".
