FOTOGRAFIA EM REVISTA

A exposição Fotografia em Revista, no Salão Cultural do Museu de Arte Brasileira da Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado, apresenta imagens que pretendem contar visualmente a história do Brasil, em todas as áreas - política, cultural, social, comportamental e esportiva.

O desafio do desenho de exposição é reunir 250 fotografias em grande formato e centenas de outras imagens em projeção sem criar pesados corredores labirínticos. Da maneira em que foi montada, se pretende resgatar o valor individual de cada fotografia e destacar os talentos de cada fotógrafo, independente do tema tratado.

As imagens foram distribuídas por corredores orgânicos, feitos de tecido e de luz, de forma a mostrarem as fotografias em condições ideais de iluminação, mas ao mesmo tempo, conferir ao ambiente leveza e interesse visual. A exposição não é revelada ao primeiro olhar, precisa ser desvendada, assim como as fotografias escolhidas aqui, pretendem desvendar o país.

No centro da exposição, uma possibilidade de se ver mais: aqui, projetam-se centenas de fotografias que foram mostradas nas revistas da Ed. Abril desde o seu início, literalmente através de um buraco na parede - espia-se para ver o que mais foi fotografado, o que mais se revelou, em um universo de assuntos mostrados através de uma lente.

Por fim, salas separadas contam histórias de fotógrafos especiais. Não são apenas histórias isoladas de pessoas a serviço de uma editora. São pontos de vista de pessoas dedicadas a uma arte, mas que informaram e ilustraram a vida dos brasileiros desde os anos 50.

PHOTOGRAPHY IN A MAGAZINE

The exhibition Fotografia em Revista (Photography in a Magazine), at the Salão Cultural of the Brazilian Art Museum of the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation, presents images which want to tell a visual history of Brazil in all angles - from politics to culture, passing through social history, behavioral changes and sports.

The challenge was to put together 250 photographies in a big format and hundreds of others to be projected, without creating mazes of heavy walls. In the way it was designed, the exhibition wants to emancipate individual values of each photography and to bring out the talent of each photographer, regardless of the shown theme.

Photographies were distributed on organic aisles, made out of light and cloth, in a way that they could be seen in ideal conditions of lightning but also giving the exhibition space a weightlessness and visual interest. The exhibition is not revealed at first sight, it has to be unveiled, as do the photographies chosen here, which pretend to unveil a country through a prospect of images.

In the center of the exhibition, there is a possibility to see more: a projection of other photographies shown in the pages of Abril Publisher since their beginning, literally through a peephole. One can peek and find out what else was photographed, what else was revelead, choosing from a universe of subjects shown through a lense.

At the end, isolated rooms show the history of special photographers. These are not only personal histories of people in service of a publisher, but points of view of people dedicated to an art form, but who also informed and showed the Brazilians for the past fifty years.
