LAURA VINCI & THE STATE OF ART

A produção Laura Vinci é extremamente intrigante: dialoga com a arquitetura, revelando formas existentes, mas invisíveis na ausência da obra. Ela tensiona o estático e paralisa o movimento.

Ao trabalhar o encontro entre a materialidade absoluta do mármore e da areia e a imaterialidade do vapor e do gelo, Laura Vinci busca uma forma dinâmica que não se repete: a criação de um sistema vivo que se reinventa constantemente.

ESTADOS é uma rara oportunidade de se vivenciarem as diferentes pesquisas da artista nos seus quinze anos de carreira. Nesta exposição, ela busca dar forma às suas obsessões, transitando entre a frieza das palavras congeladas, a efemeridade do vapor, a tensão dos fios de cobre e a perenidade do mármore e da areia. Laura é uma escultora de espaços. Com materiais articulados à arquitetura na qual eles se inserem, ela torna difusa e tênue a linha que delimita a obra de seu entorno. E esse é o instante em que a obra é percebida e também o momento em que ela nos escapa entre os dedos, como a areia, o pó e o vapor.

A obra de Laura dá forma ao silencio, ilumina o não dito, torna corpórea a luz. Suas peças são como um retrato do invisível. Valem tanto pelo que são quanto pelo que revelam. É impossível ver uma obra de Laura Vinci duas vezes, ela nunca está exatamente onde já esteve.

Com esta exposição completo dez anos realizando projetos com o Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, por meio dos quais foi possível trazer ao público a obra de Bill Viola, Gary Hill, Jenny Holzer, Peter Greenaway, Ângelo Venosa, Ousmane Sow, Adam Fuss, Momoyo Torimitsu, Johann Grimonprez, Eugenia Balcells, Jean-Luc Villmouth e Tunga. E tenho agora a honra de aproximar o público do Centro Cultural da obra de Laura Vinci.

The work of Laura Vinci is extremely intriguing - entering into a dialogue with the architecture, it reveals existent forms otherwise invisible in the absence of the work. She tightens the static and paralyses all movement. By bringing together the absolute materiality of marble and sand and the immateriality of water and ice, Laura Vinci seeks a dynamic form that does not repeat itself - seeks the creation of a living system that reinvents itself constantly.

STATES is a rare opportunity to experience the different experiments of the artist throughout the fifteen years of her career. This exhibition looks to give form to her obsessions and trace a course between the chill of frozen words, the ephemerality of subtle vapour, the tension in energized copper wires and the permanence of marble and sand. Laura is a sculptress of spaces.

Through articulate materials and the architecture within which they are placed, she manages to diffuse a thin boundary between her work and their surroundings. This is where we perceive her work and it is there that it slips through our fingers, like its sands, dust and vapours.

The work of Laura Vinci gives form to silence, illuminating the unsaid and making light corporeal. Her pieces are like portraits of the invisible, being as valuable for what they are as for what they reveal. It is impossible to see a work by Laura Vinci twice, as they can never be found again exactly where they once were.

It is now an honour to introduce to the Centro Cultural's public the work of Laura Vinci.
